Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials and services. This role plays a vital part in optimizing supply chain efficiency, controlling costs, and supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in procurement management, contract negotiation, and supply chain systems, contributing to the overall success of our organization’s sourcing strategies.
Duties

Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals, utilizing ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS) to manage procurement activities effectively.

Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and establish reliable supply sources.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.

Manage supplier relationships through regular performance evaluations, root cause analysis of issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Oversee procurement processes including purchase order creation, materials management, and logistics coordination to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Collaborate with manufacturing and production planning teams to align procurement activities with demand forecasts and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) schedules.

Monitor supply chain performance metrics, analyze root causes of delays or cost overruns, and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and internal policies related to contract management and procurement practices.

Support category management initiatives by analyzing market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier capabilities.

Assist in quality management efforts by evaluating supplier quality performance and addressing any non-conformance issues.
Qualifications

Proven experience in procurement management or purchasing roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.

Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms used for procurement activities.

Expertise in contract negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.

Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), logistics, production planning, and materials management.

Proficiency in using procurement tools for sourcing, pricing analysis, and supply chain optimization.

Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues.

Knowledge of category management principles and manufacturing processes is highly desirable.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
