General Maintenance
Job Description
Our client, a vibrant 55+ residential community, is seeking a reliable, skilled, and customer-service-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position will begin as part-time with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on community needs and performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, be proactive in addressing resident concerns, and take pride in keeping the community safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs in apartments, common areas, and community buildings (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, etc.)

Respond promptly to maintenance service requests from residents and staff

Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address potential safety or maintenance issues

Assist with groundskeeping duties such as trash removal, minor landscaping, and snow/ice removal as needed

Prepare vacant units for new residents (cleaning, repairs, painting, etc.)

Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and community policies

Provide excellent customer service to residents, maintaining a friendly and respectful demeanor
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
2+ years of general maintenance experience preferred

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with older adults

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Must be able to pass a background check
