Our client is seeking a hands-on, collaborative Controller/Accounting Director to lead daily accounting operations and oversee a small team. This role partners closely with HR on payroll and benefits, ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance, and leads annual audits and tax filings. You’ll be instrumental in software transition planning and managing project-based accounting.

Pay/Compensation/Details:

• $100,000.00/yr.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting

• Manage payroll, benefits, and 401(k) in collaboration with HR

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements

• Oversee audit, Form 990 prep, grant and restricted fund management

• Help select and implement new accounting software

• BS/MA in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required

• 10+ years in financial management, including nonprofit experience

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency

• Detail-oriented, with experience in GL, AP/AR, and financial reporting

• Sage software experience is a plus
