Our client is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to manage their financial records for their growing portfolio of Florida real estate assets. The Property Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of property-level accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations, while also supporting corporate accounting functions. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of our investments and providing accurate data to support asset management and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and/or multifamily properties.

• Prepare monthly property-level financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements with budget-to-actual variance analysis.

• Process accounts payable for property-related expenses and manage accounts receivable, including tenant billing and rent collection.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for property operating and escrow accounts.

• Calculate and process monthly management fees.

• Assist asset managers with the preparation of annual property operating budgets.

• Abstract new leases and amendments to ensure accurate billing.

• Support the corporate accounting team with month-end close and general ledger maintenance.

• Assist with the preparation of schedules for external auditors and tax preparers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• 3+ years of accounting experience, with a significant portion in the real estate industry.

• Strong understanding of property management accounting principles.

• Experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI) is highly preferred.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple property portfolios simultaneously.
